I’m delighted to share the 2026 Advent with you!
This year I’m going to create a beautiful set of mini skeins inspired by the rich jewel tones of the roses you see in the mood boards. If you have had a Cookston Crafts Advent previously, expect a more saturated moody range of colours. You can expect speckled tonals with a little variegation.
There are a few different yarn base options:
1 - Platinum Fingering 10g - 42 metres approx per mini skein 75% Superwash Merino / 25% Nylon
2 - Platinum Double Knit 10g - 22 metres approx per mini skein 75% Superwash Merino / 25% Nylon
3 - Platinum Fingering 20g - 85 metres approx per mini skein 75% Superwash Merino / 25% Nylon
4 - Platinum Double Knit 20g - 45 metres approx per mini skein 75% Superwash Merino / 25% Nylon
5 -MSC Fingering 20g - 80 metres approx per mini skein 70% Merino / 20% Silk / 10% Cashmere
6 - Krypton Fingering 20g - 85 metres approx per min skein 100% SW Merino 19.5 micron
7 - Krypton Double Knit 20g - 45 metres approx per mini skein 100% SW Merino 19.5 micron
All the yarn will been hand dyed by myself, Claire Bentley at Cookston Crafts in Aberdeenshire.
Advents will ship throughout November to ensure they will arrive in plenty time before 1st Dec.
I’ve included images from previous advents so you can see my dyeing style and what you can expect. The 2026 colours will co-ordinate with each other so you can choose to work with them in one project as you open each day but you may wish to re order them.
The minis will be bagged up seaprately in individual paper bags and placed in a beautiful keep sake presentation box.
You can however opt for a tonal co-ordinating skein which can be ordered with your advent. Please do not order anything other than the co-ordinating skein with your advent as unfortunately I can’t separate orders.
All advents will be shipped tracked 48 in the UK at the beginning of November to give the a good chance of arriving in time for December 1st. International orders will be sent tracked earlier in October.
I’d recommend this option for International customers as shipping will be calculated automatically and this will avoid a further invoice in September.
Yarn is washed, rinsed and line dried.
The yarn has been rinsed until the water runs clear, however some bleeding MAY occur and handwashing in a lukewarm solution with wool detergent would be recommended. Do not soak or wring. Do not tumble dry.

Cherry Blossom is on a Merino Silk Blend. A truly fabulous yarn with an amazing drape and sheen. This is a variegated yarn with varying tones of peach and speckles. Lovely stitch definition due to the single ply construction.
This is a pre order for this colourway. It will be open until 17th April with dyeing taking place the following week. Delivery will be around the end of April.
This yarn is dyed with an assigned pooliing technique so it would be suitable for lots of these specific projects like those designed by Dawn Barker or the Romantasy shawl in the final picture. Two skeins of this yarn would be required for this pattern.
